Plaques that belong on a wall, not in a drawer

A plaque has to read from a few metres away and still look right in ten years of fluorescent light. That is a different job from a medal in a box. We set type size and contrast for the room it will hang in — clubrooms, school halls, and office foyers included.

Existing honour boards are easier if you bring a photo of the last row of names. Matching font, spacing, and plate colour is how the new season does not look like a patch.

Materials we engrave

  • Wood and laminate plaques — usually CNC cut
  • Brass and stainless plates — usually fibre laser
  • Insert plates for perpetual trophies and shields
  • Opening plaques, staff recognition, and retirement pieces

When a plaque is the right award

Team sports often want cups from the catalogues. Life members, coaches, building openings, and “best in show” corporate nights often want a plaque. If you are mixing both, we keep the engraving style consistent so the night does not look like two quotes stapled together.

Process detail is in laser vs CNC engraving. Pickup from 1 Gaine Court suits Ringwood, Croydon, Wantirna, Knox, and Maroondah; we also deliver across Melbourne.

Plaque questions

Do you make honour boards and retirement plaques?

Yes. Wood and laminate plaques, metal plates, and honour-board inserts are a regular workshop job. Bring the board or the wall size if you need a matching addition to an existing run of names.

Is plaque engraving laser or CNC?

Wood and many laminates are CNC-cut so the lettering has depth. Stainless and brass plates are usually fibre-laser marked. We choose the process that will still read in ten years, not only on the day it leaves Gaine Court.
